Monterey County, Central Coast, California

What a region...A jam-packed region, not the flavor of jam but the fact that you have vineyards almost continuous through Carmel by the Sea, Santa Lucia Highlands and more, all backed up into the Santa Cruz Mountains before one last reach to all of 'South of the Bay' valleys, rivers, and mesas.  This was a fun region to explore as my day would start at the ocean edge in Monterey and end up a thousand feet overlooking the same Monterey within a 20-minute drive. A definite place to visit as well as buy wine from.  I do recommend experiencing the main drag, BUT, once you find something you like, head on out to the actual vineyards, the actual scenery that few in the tasting room see.
