Boatique 2016 Sauvignon Blanc
This Sauvignon blanc is fruit driven with floral notes second. Grown in the shadow of Mt. Konocti on its volcanic alluvial soils, this spot makes for a perfect growing condition for these 20-year-old gnarly looking vines. Of note, this wine was fermented and aged in concrete eggs, giving it a unique and lovely body, shaping this wine to be one of my favorites that is all around a spot-on Sauvignon Blanc.
Windy Oaks 2015 Sauvignon Blanc
This Sauvignon Blanc showcases the Santa Cruz terroir with immense accuracy. Grown from the estate and 100% sourced from that single vineyard allows for a truly regional wine. More dominated by floral notes before fruit, it has a hint of contact with the stems that gives a complexity to let fruit latch to along with matching the perfect levels of acid for this wine. Enjoy!
Six Sigma 2016 Sauvignon Blanc
This Sauvignon blanc was just released the month I picked up the Club Javi Fall shipment. It is young crisp, vibrant, and even zesty. Serve chilled and expect a wonderful assortment of citrus fruits ranging from grapefruit to lemon. This bottle has a light straw color that looks great with a taste 100% in balance from the Asbill Valley, one of the premium growing areas of Lake County.
Lake County and the Big Valley is known for its Sauvignon Blanc, along with the further East Asbill Valley. With this flight, you can put both Lake County bottles side by side while having a beautifully done Windy Oaks bottle to compare. Ranging from crisp and citric to floral and from crisp minerality to herbal notes, this one will give you pause and the ability to pair with a wide range outside of just your favorite Sauvignon Blanc.
